Cinematic trip hoppy and jazzy electronica that transports you right in the middle of 21st century urban mental emptiness. But it truly seems to be an empowering experience. Like a gentle hug from the grim reaper whispering: 'It's alright, everything is just an illusion." Love the saxes, love the sequential patterns, love the bittersweet atmosphere. 𝙅𝙤𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙡

Although Thy Catafalque is my favorite musical project, I never took the time to listen (or pirate) the first two albums, assuming they would be lower quality. That was a misjudgement. Sublunary Tragedies is certainly different than the later Thy Catafalque style we know and love, leaning a bit more towards very sophisticated 2nd wave black metal with Hungarian electro folk passages. This is very high quality. X Wild Alaskan Salmonella X

Microcosmos appears to be where Thy Catafalque began to shed the 2nd wave black metal cocoon, showing the first signs of the colorful folkened progressive metal butterfly the project would soon turn into. Thy Catafalque would continue to metamorphose and become more ambitious with each subsequent release.
